Mac not requesting password after sleepingUpdated a year ago

By default MacOS will only require a password when your computer has been asleep for more than 5 minutes. In order to adjust this setting you will need to navigate to 

 

System Preferences --> Lock Screen. You can then adjust the Require password option to "immediately" in order to require a password as soon as your computer goes to sleep.
