Setup with a Windows PCUpdated 6 months ago

Step 1: Connect to the ports of your device.

Almost all devices since 2017 use USB-C, which can both power the Display and send the video signal from your laptop with one cable. A device with a USB-C port gives the best experience with the espresso Display due to the simplicity of one cable.

espresso provides a USB-C cable that is compatible with the espresso Display. If you have a device that is before 2017, it is likely you will need to use an additional cable.  Please use our compatibility checker located here to see which cables you require for your device.

If you have a small laptop (i.e. Windows ARM device such as a Samsung Galaxy Book S), whilst the Display is compatible using USB-C, the laptop won't be able to power the Display and this may cause the Display not to connect. You may need an additional power supply such as a wall charger or a power bank.

Step 2: Display Settings and Configuration

Now that you are connected, you can configure your Display settings. If you go to the Settings Menu, you can select Display Settings. You should see the menu as per the image below. Display 1 should be your device Display, and Display 2 should be the espresso Display. You can click and drag Display 2 to be the same as your device positioning for ease of use with the mouse.

Manual Rotation & Auto-Rotation can be done via the espressoFlow software

If you scroll down, you will also see some drop-down menu items. They are as follows:

  • Modify Size: this increases the size of icons and text
  • Display Resolution: the espresso Display is Full HD, which is 1920 x 1080p. You can choose to modify this setting based on your device
  • Multiple Displays: this allows you to switch between 'Mirror Screen', which may be useful for a meeting or presentation to 'Extend These Displays' which is the main use of having an extra screen

And now you should be set up and connected!
